HEAVY RIFFS FROM BEYOND THE WALL!

HEAVY RIFFS FROM BEYOND THE WALL!

 BUCCHUS BARACUS (GLASGOW)
Bacchus Baracus are a 4 piece from Glasgow and they play some pretty bad ass hard rock. They just released their 4 track EP titled Growler. It’s approiately named too because the EP hits you up with some pretty gruffy vocals, tight drumming and monstrous guitar riffs!

GAREEDA (EDINBURGH)
Formed in the first quarter of 2010 following turbulent times in not just the local music scene, but the UK, Gareeda formed over a mutual taste in music, principles and methods of consuming bourbon.

 ROBOT DEATH MONKEY  (EAST LINTON)
Two man Stoner Sludge Machine

LORDS OF BASTARD (EDINBURGH)
Lords Of Bastard are a four piece heavy rock band from Edinburgh, Scotland.
They have done some things, and continue doing some things.

 ATRAGON (EDINBURGH)
Formed in the cold, harsh winter of 2012 over a common disdain for mankind, Atragon worship at the altar of the riff. They desire only to bring about your doom through the powers of distortion, tube amplification & heathen ritual.

BODACIOUS (GREENOCK)
www.facebook.com/bodaciousband
Grunge/Stoner/Metal band from Greenock

MELTED MESSIAH (DUNFERMLINE)
Melted Messiah are a new 3 piece stoner/doom/grunge kinda band from Dunfermline, Scotland. Formed in 2012 and very very close to getting out of the practice rooms. Influences vary from but we sound a little like Corrosion of Conformity, Soundgarden, Kyuss and a bit of Melvins.

SYLVANUS  (EDINBURGH)
Cider Drenched Stoner Metal

DOG TIRED (PENICUIK)
Dog Tired are a four piece metal band hailing from the back water town that is Penicuik, just outside of Edinburgh. DT formed in early '05 with the intention of havin' a good time and playing the kind of music that‘d both incite violence and start a party. Since its inception the band have made it their duty to show crowds all over Scotland just how it’s done by putting on blistering, energetic, neck snapping performances time after time

ULTIMATE SLAYMASTER (EDINBURGH)
www.facebook.com/ultimateslaymaster
The people of the south are perishing.  Assaults from the great eagles of the eastern ranges and many, scaled servants of the heinous oceanmasters have shaken the very core of mans society.  Times have become desperate and the last surviving members of the once great grassland empire have been forced to seek an unlikely ally.  Forged in the bitter north, The Ultimate Slaymaster.  Mans last hope!

BISONGRASS (ABERDEEN)
Beef Metal from Aberdeen, Scotland. Formed late 2010. Featuring former and current members of Dredwater, KCHGH, Ablach, Filthpact, Risactonia and Korpse.Fudge Awards winners Best Newcomer 2012 & Best Band 2012.

MOTHERTONE (EDINBURGH)
Brand new to the scene and formed by a bunch of guys who like to assault the ears of the many, we will be jaunting around playing gigs and establishing ourselves live as much as possible.
Description. A mixture of influences including but not limited to- Black Sabbath, kyuss, Fu Manchu and Sonic the Hedgehog 3. It's rank, It's loud, and it doesn't like modern rock. Come get it right in amongst ye!

SUNSMASHER (GLASGOW)
Drawing members from the Scottish Grind, Crust and Hardcore scenes they formed in early 2010 with a view to sounding as claustrophobic, intense and violent as could be achieved, Sunsmasher immediately established themselves as a titanic live experience, playing amongst Grind and Hardcore bands, their confrontational Doom and Sludge noise-hell strikes a note at a fraction of the pace but thrice the heaviness. Coming across like a smash up of Iron Monkey, Electric Wizard, Melvins and Sleep, The Mammothian Loud Cult rumbles on!

 LOW SONIC DRIFT (GLASGOW)
We are an incandescent triptych of sonic electricity who will happily illuminate your living room / bar / cave / kitchen / field / personal space with monolithic sound-scapes and vivacious shouting. We can be relied upon for wholeheartedly throwing ourselves around and inadvertently breaking things around us (usually the drum kit)

THE TYRANT LIZARD KINGS (EDINBURGH)
Formed in Edinburgh in 2001 by Stu (guitar and vocals), Chris (vocals and bass) and Alex (drums), the Tyrant Lizard Kings quickly got a raw, feedback-laden stoner rock groove going and started gathering a strong fanbase. After a short tour, a line-up change saw Graeme take over on drums. The twisted noise of before slowly began to shift in a new direction, with a more structured take on rock and blues, referencing Motorhead and Karma to Burn.

JACKAL HEADED GUARD OF THE DEAD (EDINBURGH)
And there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth, for the earth had spat forth a most vile group of scum; borne loose with steely eyes and ravenous bellies. Their foul purpose is that most unnameable of horrors, the dark art in which even the most sinister backstreet necromancer in Cairo would not dare utter...doom metal. We are a doom band, who also like Lovecraft, weed, and films so raw they'll skullfuck your brain and leave you with a twitch. Enjoy, you cunts.

ISAK (DUNDEE/PERTH)
Three guys came together early 2012 to create music they love. After a long summer of jamming and soul searching, we are ready to let you ride along.  Our music is a blend of heavy fuzz and stoner grooves.

 BURIED SLEEPER (GLASGOW)
"If the stars had a sound...they would sound like this!"

HEADLESS KROSS (GLASGOW)
With their unrelenting pscyhedelic-tinged doom, Headless Kross, a three-piece drawn from the
depths of Scotland's underground music scene, have made it their mission to provide us with a
monolithic soundtrack as we trudge towards the End Times

SKELETON GONG (GLASGOW)
Skeleton Gong is a bong gonging, cyder abusing, wychfinding musical project.
An idea of good friends, neighbours, sinners & vibrations of the mind of the one true god
whose name is love.

BLACK JACK (EDINBURGH)
“Those fortunate enough to see Blackjack play live emerge shaken thrillingly to the core by their energetic riffs and reverberating bassline. The effect of Love Like Stone, the debut EP from this Edinburgh 5-piece, is no different. Pacy and lyrically solid, it's one not to miss. ”

Karma To Burn @ Trillians 3rd september 2012

On Monday 3rd of September Desert Rock Scotland traveled down from Edinburgh to Newcastle to see the mighty Karma to Burn play at trillions with Desert Storm & Druganaut!

Me, Gary & Sam
Joining me on the road was my brother Sam & the living legend that is Gary Dunham!  First stop off in the toon was at old Tommy Crowders house where we got fired into a bottle of Jim Beam and a few smokes, tom then took us on the metro from Gateshead into town where he told us about checkies and Gary pretended to be a jordie the entire trip with his phrase "I'm gann doon the toon with me mate jordi alba!"

We got to Trillians around 9'sh and had just missed the first band! We headed to the bar where we we grated by Rich Mullens bassist of k2b (we have met him a few times before at gigs and he recognized us straight away by calling us the Scottish dudes) he went on to tell us that they had a new drummer because rob was having some family problems which is a great shame because my brother Sam has learned a lot from watching rob drum and stole his mega high crash style off him.

Jack Pot

Now Gary is from Dunbar, so that means the first thing he does when he get's into a pub is go straight to the puggy, within 2sec of playing it he had figured it out and he hit the jack pot after 2 mins, a victory round of jack & cokes were ordered!!!

Desert Storm took the stage and were pretty cool the guitarist really stood out and were a tight band, for some reason the singer had decided he was going to wear a winter jacket for the whole gig! I have played trillions before and let me tell you when the lights are on it is hot is fuck! The last thing you would want to be wearing is a big fuck off winter coat, but wear it he did!

Karma to burn were up next and with no new album out and a new drummer k2b were testing the waters with some new tunes and in true k2b fashion they never disappoint, they are a high energy riff machine, riff after riff after riff after riff after riff so fucking good! The Newcastle crowd were less then energetic it seamed it was only us 4 and a Scottish dude called Dougie & his wife who were rely getting into it, suppose the English don't like to get to wild on a Monday night unlike the Scots. The band were feeding off our good vibes and Gary spilling his 2 pints about the front of the stage seamed to amuse guitarist William Mecum! The highlight of the night was after they finished there set i grabbed the mic from the stage and called them up for more songs and for them to play 20 (witch is one of the greatest riffs ever in my opinion) they had no choice but to come back on stage and drink tequila with the crowd!

The trip was ended off with a trip to Alnwick castle where Gary got to dress up as a knight!
